Household Contents Shield

The plan that offers cash or new items for your lost belongings.

Fire, floods, burglary and lightning are some of the events that can happen beyond our control. Household Contents Shield is designed to provide you with the peace of mind of having financial protection against damage to, or the loss of, your household contents.

Benefits

• Replacement of old belongings with new ones
  Most of your damaged or stolen items will be replaced with new items up to the sum covered.
• Personal accident cover up to RM10,000 for each person
  Everyone* living in your home will also be covered up to RM10,000 each in the event of accidental death caused by the covered perils while at home.
• Free auto-debit
  Your contributions will be debited automatically from your HSBC or HSBC Amanah savings/current account or your HSBC or HSBC Amanah credit card for free.
• Automatic renewal
  Your coverage will be automatically renewed annually, so that your home contents and family will always be protected.

Coverage details

Summary of coverage

• Loss or damage to household contents, including:
  - Electrical and electronic equipment, furniture and clothing
  - Valuables and personal effects like jewellery
  - Contents temporarily removed from the house
  - Domestic helper’s belongings
• Personal Accident coverage of up to RM10,000 per person
• Third party liability coverage of up to RM50,000 for any one event arising from an accident which occurred in your home
• Up to a maximum of RM250 for any one event for damaged external locks and keys caused by theft

• Fire, lightning, thunderbolt and subterranean fire
• Explosion
• Impact damage by any road vehicle
• Impact from an aircraft or other aerial device and/or articles dropped from it
• Water damage due to bursting or overflowing of domestic water tanks, apparatus or pipes
• Theft by forcible entry/exit
• Typhoon or windstorm
• Earthquake and volcanic eruption
• Flood
• Riot, strike, civil commotion not amounting to a popular uprising, or labour disturbance, acts by malicious persons and vandals
• Subsidence and landslip (optional cover with additional contribution)
