What is HSBC Secure Logon?

HSBC Secure Logon is our latest authentication feature that lets you access your online banking safely and quickly. Simply scan the QR code and match it with a unique 6-digit number using HSBC Malaysia Mobile Banking (HSBC Malaysia app).

To use this feature, please update your HSBC Malaysia app to the latest version, and you're good to go.

Follow the instructions below and log on to HSBC Malaysia Online Banking in four easy steps.

Step 1

Enter your credentials to log on to HSBC Malaysia Online Banking.

Step 2

You’ll see a QR Code with a unique 6-digit number generated.

Step 3

Open your HSBC Malaysia app.

Step 4

Verify your log on details and the 6-digit number.
Then, scan the QR code using your registered mobile device.

If you're logging on to HSBC Online Banking via your mobile device, follow the four steps below to log on.

Step 1

Open the mobile browser on your registered mobile device.
Enter your credentials to log on to HSBC Malaysia Online Banking.

Step 2

You’ll see a unique 6-digit number generated.

Step 3

Tap ‘Launch mobile app’.

Step 4

Verify your log on details on the browser and the 6-digit number displayed on your HSBC MY App. Then, select ‘Verify and continue’.

Here are some tips to ensure you’re logging on to the genuine HSBC Malaysia Online Banking website.

Check that the 6-digit unique number displayed on your desktop or mobile browser and on the HSBC Malaysia app are the same.
Make sure the three browser log on information details ('Browser', 'Location' and 'Date/time') are accurate on the HSBC Malaysia app.
If either the 6-digit unique number does not match or the browser access information is not accurate, select 'Reject' to discontinue the logon journey and report this incident immediately to HSBC Malaysia.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

You can use HSBC Secure Logon with maximum two devices. We recommend that you log on using devices you trust and recognise.

Please note that you can use only one device to register for HSBC MY Mobile App.

First, select 'Reject' on your HSBC Malaysia App to discontinue the log on journey. Then, report this incident to us via HSBC Contact Centre or visit our Branch nearest to you.

You need to have your device registered with HSBC MY Mobile App. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use HSBC Secure Logon.

A desktop browser refers to a web browser installed on a desktop, laptop or tablet (such as iPad).

A mobile browser is a browser app installed on a mobile device or mini tablet.

You may continue to use the regular log on method. Generate a 6-digit unique log on code from your Physical Security Device (PSK) to access online banking. Learn more.
