Express cash deposit

You can now deposit your cash any time and at your convenience with our online ECDMs. The deposit is instantly credited into your bank account. Besides cash deposits, you can also perform payment to any HSBC/HSBC Amanah card account.

 

Note: payment to a card account will be credited the next day. Only RM10, RM20, RM50 and RM100 notes can be accepted. Maximum number of notes per transaction is 100. Maximum amount per day per account is RM30,000 (for an external account, the limit is RM10,000).

You may use our Cheque Deposit Machines to:

  • Deposit cheques into any HSBC/HSBC Amanah bank account
  • Deposit cheques for payment to any HSBC/HSBC Amanah card account
  • Deposit cheques for payment to any HSBC Amanah Home Financing or HSBC Home Loan account

   

Please note that all the transactions above are subject to the normal terms and conditions relating to the clearing of cheques.

Cheque deposit and credit timings

Cheque deposit time: Monday–Friday (Sunday–Thursday only for Kuala Terengganu & Kelantan) by 4:00pm  

Cheque crediting time: Next business day after 8:00pm

 

Cheques deposited after 4:00 PM or on non-business days will be considered as cheques deposited on next business day.

Cheque and current account services

Fee per cheque issued is RM0.50 with the cheque processing fee effective from January 2, 2015.

There is no interest rate or profit rate for a current a HSBC Basic Savings Account or HSBC Basic Current Account. For interest rates and profit rates for HSBC Premier, please read the PDF below.

Cheque scanning

Unlike the ordinary cheque deposit machines which use envelopes, our ChequeScan* is designed to provide the scanning/imaging capability where the image of deposited cheques will be printed on the customer receipt. It is a hassle-free cheque depositing service with no PIN, pay-in-slip or envelope required. You may use the ChequeScan to:

  • Deposit cheques into any HSBC/HSBC Amanah bank account
  • Deposit cheques for payment to any HSBC/HSBC Amanah card account
  • Deposit cheques for payment to any HSBC Amanah Home Financing or HSBC Home Loan account
  • Deposit cheques for payment to selected bill payment merchants

   

*Only at selected branches.

Coin counting deposit

There is a new 24-hour self-service terminal that allows you to deposit coins at selected branches*.

  • Deposit into HSBC savings or current accounts
  • Touchscreen with language selection: English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin
  • Only Malaysian coins are accepted, in denominations of 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen
  • Minimum deposit is RM2
  • No maximum deposit, but it is subject to the load capacity of the CCDM
  • Deposit will be credited within 3 working days
  • No fee charged

HOUSe

In addition to the PLUS, Cirrus and Global ATMs, we'll be expanding our network of ATMs with HOUSe – a new shared ATM network to improve account accessibility for cash withdrawals and balance checking.

This service is the only network in the industry that electronically connects four locally incorporated foreign banks to give our customers more flexibility to access their deposit and current accounts from these ATMs.

Fees and charges: A service fee of RM1 will be charged for every successful withdrawal from our partner banks' ATMs. Withdrawals from HSBC/HSBC Amanah ATMs and all balance enquiries are free of charge.
