Things you should know

Online transfer

With the announcement by Bank Negara that effective 2 January 2015, each cheque issued will cost 50 sen1, it is time to perform your transactions via HSBC online banking.

Interbank GIRO (IBG) - Pay your bills at 35 participating banks in a flash:

  • Online transfers within HSBC accounts are free
  • Only 10 sen per transfer for Interbank GIRO (IBG) transactions
  • Quickly transfer funds up to RM50,000 per day (new revised transaction limit)
  • Pay bills to selected merchants, access all your HSBC accounts, make Electronic Shares Applications and etc, at any time that is convenient to you
  • HSBC online banking is protected by our enhanced, security device which provides an extra layer of security to ensure that your banking information and transactions online are safe and secure
  • Third party transactions can now be done instantly. Only 50 sen per transfer for Instant Transfer transactions.

 

1Effective 2 January 2015, banks will charge a cheque processing fee of 50 sen per transaction on the issuer of the cheque. This charge is in addition to the existing stamp duty of 15 sen per cheque leaf payable to the Inland Revenue Board.

Online certificate servicing

With effect from 22 November 2010, you can now view information on your Family Takaful plan(s) including, LifeStyle Saver, LifeStyle Protector, LifeStyle Protector Plus, LifeSelect Regular, Regular Contribution Takaful Retirement Plan, LifeSelect Single, Single Contribution Takaful Retirement Plan, Takaful Structured Investment-linked Plans (NEAT II, Rising Phoenix, Flying Dragon).

The information available that can help you review your takaful coverage are:

  • Summary of your HSBC Amanah Takaful certificates (i.e. plan type, certificate number , commencement date and covered person name)
  • Plan information (i.e. expiry date, sum covered, correspondence address)
  • Payment information (e.g. payment method and banking account/credit card no., payment frequency, contribution (premium) amount, date of next payment due)
  • Plan coverage (e.g. basic cover, benefit amount)
  • Certificate value (where applicable – unit holding, fund price, fund balance)
  • Contribution allocation (e.g. fund name, % of contribution allocation)
