Things you should know

You'll need one of these numbers for your registration:

Credit card/-i number
Debit card/-i number
Phone banking number

Once you finish the registration process, you'll need to call us from your registered mobile number to verify your registration within 48 hours.

Call our 24-hour card activation hotline +603 8321 8999 from your registered mobile number.
Press '1' and follow the instructions to activate your card/-i.
Once you complete the activation step, press '2' to create your credit card/-i PIN.

Call our 24-hour card activation hotline +603 8321 8999 from your registered mobile number.
Press '2' and enter your 16-digit debit card/-i number.
Enter the 6-digit security code sent to your registered mobile number.
Create a new 6-digit PIN and re-enter this PIN to confirm.

You can visit your nearest branch and set up your telebanking PIN (also known as phone banking PIN).

Register through the HSBC Malaysia app

You can complete your registration for online and mobile banking following these steps:

Step 1

Open the HSBC Malaysia app. Select 'No' for new registration and accept the terms and conditions to continue.

Step 2

Select your preferred verification method and fill in the relevant details.

Step 3

Get a one-time activation code by selecting ‘Send SMS activation code’ to confirm your identity.

Step 4

Create your username and password.

Step 5

Choose your security question and enter your answer.

Step 6

Call us from your registered mobile number to verify your registration within 48 hours. There is also a 12-hour cooling-off period once you set up your Mobile Secure Key.

Register through our website

Simply go to the online banking registration page and follow the instructions to register. You'll get an SMS notification from us once your registration is complete.

Frequently asked questions

For your security, you can only register the HSBC Malaysia Mobile Banking app on one device at a time.

When you switch to a new device, it's important that you deregister the app on your old device before you register it on your new device. To deregister the app, please log on to the app and follow these steps:

Go to 'Profile' in the top right corner and select 'Security'.
Select 'Manage devices'.
Choose the device you wish to remove, then 'Remove device'.
Select 'Remove and log off' to complete.

Do not delete the app from your old device before you've completed the steps to deregister it.

If you’re unable to deregister your old device and need more help, please contact us.

Please note that there's a 12-hour cooling-off period after each time you set up your Mobile Secure Key. You'll be able to access our full range of online and mobile banking services after that.

To make your mobile banking registration a smooth one, please make sure you have any one of the following credentials ready:

Debit card number
Credit card number
Phone banking number

Once you finish the registration, you'll need to call us to verify your registration with your registered mobile number for verification within 48 hours.

You'll need to verify your registration first if it's your first time registering with us for online and mobile banking.

Please call us within 48 hours of receiving the SMS that confirms your registration – for the hotline number, please visit our contact page. Alternatively, you can visit us at your nearest branch – make an appointment now.

If you did not complete your verification within 48 hours, you'll need to start your online and mobile banking registration again.

Please note that there's a 12-hour cooling-off period after each time you set up your Mobile Secure Key. You'll be able to access our full range of online and mobile banking services after that.

You can reset your 6-digit PIN by following these steps:

Open the HSBC Malaysia app and select 'Log on with PIN'.
Choose 'Forgot your PIN'.
Enter the HSBC Online Banking password which you created during your registration – if you don't remember it, you can find out how to reset your password on our FAQs page.
Enter the activation code which we've sent to your registered mobile number via SMS.
Once you've used the activation code to verify your identity successfully, you can create a new 6-digit PIN to log on to the app going forward.
