Financial relief measures for HSBC customers in Malaysia

HSBC Bank Malaysia and HSBC Amanah Malaysia will continue to extend financial assistance for individuals, microenterprises and SMEs in Malaysia affected by the pandemic

We empathise with individuals and businesses who are going through economic hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic. HSBC has supported our customers through many ups and downs, and our commitment remains unchanged.

Our existing financial assistance programmes will continue to be made available as below:

  • For individual customers: The URUS assistance scheme is available for eligible B50 customers. Please refer below for more information on the programme. Meanwhile, our existing financial assistance programmes will continue to be made available.
  • For Retail Business Banking (RBB) customers: Please refer to Section 3 for more details.
  • For business or SME customers, please click here for more information or get in touch with your Relationship Manager.

Financial Management and Resilience Programme (Program Pengurusan & Ketahanan Kewangan, URUS)

Following the recent announcement by the Government of Malaysia on 13 October 2022, the Financial Management and Resilience Programme (Program Pengurusan & Ketahanan Kewangan, URUS) is now available for eligible B50 individual customers. The programme is open for applications from 15 November 2021 to 31 March 2022.

URUS is available to individual customers who meet the full eligibility criteria including the need to provide supporting documents. Under URUS, AKPK will also provide personalised financial plans that are developed holistically, taking into account the customer’s financial circumstances and ability to afford repayment of all their financing obligations. 

Customers are encouraged to understand the details of the financial plans options offered before application and be reminded to apply where they currently have performing facilities that are under existing repayment assistance. 

Section 1: HSBC Additional Deferment Programme 2/Payment  Reduction Programme 2 for mortgages/home financing and personal loans/financing accounts

The 6-month programmes has ended on 31 December 2021. We will also be able to provide you with information about The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, or commonly known as Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) which is an agency set up by Bank Negara Malaysia since April 2006 as an alternative option.

Section 2: HSBC Relief Balance Conversion (RBC) Programme and RBC Deferment Programme for individual credit card customers

The RBC programme has ended on 31 December 2021. Section 3: HSBC Additional Deferment Programme 2.2 /Payment Reduction Programme 2.2 for Retail Business Banking (RBB) customers

The 6-month programme has ended on 31 December 2021. If you are experiencing payment difficulties or need further financial support, please call 03-8321 8866 between 9 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. (Monday to Sunday). Remember, if you are worried about making future payments, we will work with you to determine a suitable solution.

HSBC Targeted Assistance Programme

HSBC 6-month Automatic Deferment Programme

The 6-month automatic deferment period has ended on 30 September 2020. If you are comfortable that your monthly payments are starting again, we have alternative payment options post the deferment period to help you save more on the total accrued interest/profit/lease rental payable.
